Life in Arizona

So after a crazy road trip during which we hit a deer (or got hit by a deer), got stuck in Kanab for two days, and encountered snow, rain, and intense heat all within about 24 hours....here we finally are in Arizona for Andrew's internship!

beginning of the trip, feeling good...before the deer

we had to kill several hours at a park in kanab

we were able to spend some time staying with and
getting to know some of andrew's side of the family we
don't get to see very often

glen canyon dam.  we were supposed to meet my family at the grand canyon but those plans had to change.

glen canyon satisfied our sight-seeing needs for this trip
Aside from the unexpected chaos of our trip here (we were all safe and sound the entire time), the whole internship experience has been fun so far!  We're living with Natalie, Ray, and Hadley in their lovely home here in Mesa.  We blessed Hannah at their house the day after we got here.  Both sets of our parents were able to be here for it and she wore the dress I made her for her- two things which made it even more special for us.  We love this girl so much.  I'm so grateful she's ours.

Natalie and I have been hanging out at splash pads, grocery stores, malls and occasionally some place not air conditioned like the zoo.  Which leads me to the crazy day we had earlier this week in the day we went to the zoo.  I can’t even describe it all…so here it is in list form:

In one day Audrey and Hadley…
got into the pantry and took everything off the bottom shelf (mostly Hadley)
pulled down the curtain and curtain rod in Hadley’s room onto themselves (both)
spread peanut butter all over legs and arms while moms weren’t looking (Audrey)
peed on the floor (Hadley once, Audrey twice in the same spot)
almost pulled Hannah out of the swing and onto the floor (both…just cause they love her so much)

All in addition to their usual fighting, crying, dropping food on the floor, and getting hurt just by nature of being toddlers.

It's been crazy.  But it's been so very very very fun.  We're so grateful for Natalie and Ray having us here.  Andrew has really been enjoying his internship so far.  Natalie and I are talking and reminiscing soooo much about soooooo many things.  It's nice to have a temporary change...even in this kind of heat.  It's worth it.

One month down, three months to go!  It's looking good.
