Monthly Books and Movies- March

Here are some of the things we've been enjoying from the library this month:

As said before, I gravitate towards books with great pictures.  These four were amazingly illustrated and has lovely stories to go along with them.

Audrey has revealed that she likes the books that have really distinguishable faces in the pictures.  I learned about that in my Child Development class but I didn't realize how true it was.  Two eyes, a nose and a mouth is all she needs to get hooked on a book.  She also likes counting books and animal books.  Animal books most likely because of the fool Mommy makes of herself while doing the animal sounds.  She especially likes birdies and puppies.

The "Cuddle" book may be her most favorite of all library books we've ever checked out.  Each page says something like "smooch, baby, smooch", "hug, baby, hug", or "rock, baby, rock" and when we read it we do each of those things it says.  Today in particular she lit up when we did "snuggle, baby, snuggle."  She did a shy little smile with her shoulders up to her ears and everything.  Gosh, this baby!

We didn't get any movies this month but we have been in a Jane Austen mood lately so we watched Sense and Sensibility (which we already own on VHS) about 4 times.  We also had this book from the library to go right along with it.

Someday I think I will do a whole blog post about how much I adore this movie and all the reasons why.  Whenever I haven't seen it in awhile and I come across it in our movie collection I'm like, "Eh, I guess I'll watch this."  And then I do and I ball like a baby when I remember how wonderful it is and I find myself wondering why I ever wasted time watching anything else ever.  I think it's mainly because it's all just so true.  All the lessons, all the sentiments, everything about what true and lasting love really really is. 

There is also this book we got from the library.  I had picked it up in a bookstore a long time ago and loved the little bit of it I read.  If you're a Jane Austen fan, this is really good read.  I think I'll do a blog post about this sometime as well.  (I know I always say that, so hopefully I really will come through with it this time.  I'm seriously feeling so inspired by Jane Austen right now, her stories and her life.)
