Kids say the darndest things...

One of the same four year olds that I mentioned in earlier posts who I call S is always confused about everything.  I have to blog about him because I just love him so much and he always makes my day with his weird cuteness.  He's no angel, though...he has a very hard time remembering not to hit the teacher.  But somehow I still go home happy to know him at the end of every day and here are some funny reasons why.

When I ask him what he’s doing he’ll say something completely random like, “Sixty four.  I need the sixty four.”  The other day I heard him arguing with another kid and he said, “No!  Yours is the rectangle mom!!!!!!”  Also whenever I ask him to do anything he always says, "Uh......I'm too stuck."  He has a best friend named W who he truly believes is his personal property.  When he doesn't want to play with him he leaves him, but as soon as another kid starts to pay attention to him, S runs back yelling "HEY THAT'S MIIIINE!!!!"  For those of you who have seen Psych it's a lot like the Sean and Gus relationship.  It cracks me up.

One of the funniest ways he gets confused is during lunchtime.  He loves milk and he will drink his whole cup of milk before eating anything else.  A little while later he will suddenly look at his cup and scream, “WHO DRANK MY MILK????!!”  He accuses everyone around him and says, “You drank my milk!  Give it back!!”  And then he is just so confused when I remind him that he drank his own milk and that he can have more anyway.  He's never happy with that answer...he demands JUSTICE!!  This happens EVERY DAY.  The other kids are starting to get confused too and wonder who really drank his milk.  He’s one of the funniest kids I’ve ever ever known.

Another one of my favorite stories (not about him for once) is when a little girl named A came running up to me at recess crying and holding her stomach.  When I asked her what happened she pointed and said, “He kicked me right in the wiener!”  I censored that part…she didn’t say wiener…she said something else and I about died laughing!  I was so surprised to hear that word come out of a four year old girl’s mouth!  Things were clarified as much I felt I (as her teacher and not her parent) should clarify and then on her way she went.  I, however, continue laughing weeks later.

I love my job.
