Thanksgiving this year was low key. We were so excited Samantha came to spend it with us. She came into town two days before but then all of us, including her, were sick from Tuesday night to Thursday morning. Luckily, ironically, AMAZINGLY, Andrew's work had just given their employees a gift card to The Honeybaked Ham restaurant. So we ordered our turkey and sides and all I did was make dessert! Our dinner was stress free, which is surprising under the circumstances! We did a little craft, ate a bunch, facetimed with the very full house at home in California, and then probably ended the day with a movie and more eating- I can't even remember, but that's what we've been doing lately so that's probably what happened! Then at night Andrew, Eli, and I went black friday shopping while Samantha baby sat our sleeping girls and had the TV to herself.

The next day we did more black friday shopping and in evening Becki came for a movie night/sleepover! It was supposed to be a double feature but instead became Roman Holiday and Great British Baking show marathon. So it was basically my favorite thing. Especially seeing everyone crammed in our little living room with blankets, pillows, popcorn, and that Christmas tree glow. I like this Hygge thing I've been hearing about.
Also the day we had returned home from California, our favorite Matt and Cassie came over to see us on their way back to BYU Idaho and helped us decorate our tree! We seem to have happened upon a tradition for decorating for Christma- or more so it happened on us. Whoever happens to come over to our house near Christmas time ends up decorating with us! It's happened 3 years in a row now. First with Becki, Mariah, and Ross, then with Samantha, and now with Matt and Cassie.
I like it.
If it tapers off and people stop just showing up right at the perfect time when we're about to decorate maybe we'll have to start actually inviting people. Which will be fine too.

A great beginning to our Christmas season!
