After Christmas trip home: Part 4

i guess this is how they both felt about being in their carseats when we would go out and about.

Every other spare minute of our time there was spent hanging out at home which was exactly what we wanted.  We spent New Years evening at the Porters playing games and eating, but actually brought in the new year at home with our family and a few friends.  The 'Game of Things' was one of the highlights of the visit and it had me pretty hysterical right around the beginning of 2014.  It felt good to start the new year off laughing!  We were able to see some Chandler side of the family as well before our trip was over and it was all a blast.

luke and andrew played this balancing game that was pretty difficult.  it's kind of like jenga...but different.  anyways, after playing it several times and having it topple over they finally were able to get all the pieces balanced on there!  they were pretty proud so i took a picture to commemorate the achievement.

Oh why did it have to end??  We came back home on Sunday and have now settled in to the new semester.  It's already been easier than the last one, simply because we're more used to this life now.  And also because Audrey's not a newborn anymore.  That definitely has something to do with it.  New Year's resolutions have helped Audrey and I keep busy during the day and Andrew's semester has started off well with his classes.  The snow is even melting so Audrey and I went outside today.  Over all the whole holiday season was a wonderful and much needed break for this Dobbins family and while we are sad it's over (very sad) we are ready to face the new year and all the things it's going to bring us.  I didn't quite reach my goal of beating my own blog record this year, but I'm going to make that goal for this year right at the beginning!  As I mentioned, New Year's resolutions have done me good lately so I think this year will be pretty smashing.  How could it not be with this little face?
