I feel some nostalgia coming on....

I'm not really sure what to blog about right now. After an all-nighter, a 9 hour shuttle ride, and 7 hours of waiting for our flight to Alaska, I'm a little bit dazed! Only 14 more hours to go!

There are a few things going through my head right now. We left Salt Lake early this morning, and as we pulled away from the Conference Center I thought about how much I would miss that little city. I've done a lot of growing up there.

This may be a little 'molly-mormon' of me, but I stumbled across a scripture in the Book of Mormon as I was thinking about the fact that my life in Salt Lake has officially come to an end. Mosiah 18 talks about the place that Alma secretly taught the faithful people, a forest near the waters of Mormon. Verse 30 says how the people had come to feel about this humble little place full of trees. "How beautiful are they (the trees, I think) to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever."

How beautiful to me is that big yellow house in California, where every good lesson I've ever learned got it's foundation. How beautiful to me is that loud dusty old Camp Nauvoo, the place where I started figuring out my testimony. And now, how beautiful to me is Salt Lake City, the place where I "came to a knowledge of my Redeemer," as the scripture says, and all He has in store for me. I'd says it's the place my testimony was solidified. I've made so many friends and had so many important experiences these past few years. Salt Lake will always hold a very special place in my heart. I will "sing to His praise forever" for giving me that time there.

We all have special feelings about certain places, objects, songs, smells and such. Feelings that not many people understand no matter how you try to explain it to them. It's something just for you.

Isn't life great? President Eyring says that the most important word in the dictionary is remember. I definitely agree with him. I have about 4 journals all filled up from my time at LDSBC. I'll remember Salt Lake forever.
