As much as I would like to answer everyone's questions about Andrew and I, it is kind of hard to get back to people on facebook. So at Auntie Kathy's request (and a great many other people) here is my quick little version of Andrew and Hillary.
I am the kind of person that doesn’t like to jump the gun. Which is ironic because a lot of people at home hearing that I am 21 and engaged to a guy that nobody knows, would probably say, “If that’s not jumping the gun, then what is?” BUT...the truth is that we’ve actually known each other for about three years now. So I think I will start out explaining how Andrew and I met.
We have different memories of it. My first memory of him is when I saw him at the new student orientation in January 2008. I specifically remember seeing him walk through the door for the first time and thinking, “Alaska? Hmmm…maybe I’ll marry him.” His first memory of me is when Julia introduced us a few days later.
So throughout the semester we both liked each other…at the wrong times. When he would like me I would like someone else, and vice versa. Then when we were finally on the same page…the semester ENDED of course. However, we were able to get ONE romantic moment in right before we all went home: a nervous little midnight walk just the two of us. From then on it was letters…lots and lots of letters. We wrote to each other all two years of his mission. He came back…and we knew we were MADE FOR EACH OTHER!
And the rest…is history!
So there you go Auntie Kathy...and everyone else! Thanks for caring!!
