Let's see what has been going on for us lately? Only about a MILLION things. Most importantly for the blog, here is recap of mine and Audrey's California trip:
The main events of the trip were doctor's appointments, a Walk for Autism day, and time with family. I think I'll write about the doctors appointments and how much I missed Andrew in another post some other time. For now, here are pictures!
Autism Walk
| my mom works in a special ed class at an elementary school, so we were all excited to attend this event with her co-workers |
| my cool brother |
| audrey and grandpa! |
| cousins just chillin |
| they had such a HUGE turn out at the Walk, over a thousand i'd say. there was music and a stage with a mic and big speakers and soon the whole crowd was doing the cha-cha slide! dad and julia were getting down and samantha was one of the kids up on the stage leading the crowd!!! |
| me and my baby!!!! she discovered her nose that day. and continued to discover it the rest of the week. |
| addy trying to give kisses! |
Hanging with family
| getting in touch with her hawaiian side |
| two babies in a bath make for a very wet floor |
| chef addy |
| addy was so attentive to audrey the whole time. i think she wished audrey could play a bit more than she was able to. but addy taught her what she knew and played with her anyway! they were a cute little pair. |
| those round round round little cheeeeeeeks |
| loving the beach with auntie sam |
| my big little brother! the whole time we were there i was just dying about how big he is. a few times i grabbed him and tried to hold him telling him all about how i used to hold him when he was a baby, and how i changed his diapers sometimes, and how i loved to pinch his little baby butt! my kids are gonna hate me when they're teenagers. |
| playing with grandpa's leg. not grandpa…just his leg. i don't think she quite knew how to get out of this position. after while the smiles were replaced by a confused/panicked face. |
| trading babies with my sister at off the grid! gooooood food. the fries from 'meso hungry' were my favorite. |
And here is a little excerpt from my mom's blog about Addy and Audrey's budding relationship. She explains it better than I could:
My pacifier is your pacifier and visa versa
Both my grandaughters love their pacifiers. If Addy sees Audrey's pacifier lying around she picks it up and gives it to her. She also likes to try to hold Audrey or have Audrey hold her, by trying to sit in her lap. Last night Reggie and I made a run to Walgreens because we couldn't find any of Audrey's pacifiers and she let us know that she wasn't about to go to sleep without one. As I was opening the package of new pacifiers Addy was noticing and was very excited. Julia explained "no no, those are Audrey's pacifiers". We gave one to Audrey and all was well. A few minutes later we noticed the girls sitting, facing each other, with Addy sucking on the new pacifier and Audrey sucking on Addy's old one. It was priceless! Obviously Addy decided it was time to trade. Both girls were very happy.

It was a great trip overall. The only thing that was missing was Andrew. And that made a big difference. I love going home but I've also realized that home is wherever he is, wherever we are together. If only BYU could up and move to California! Oh well. We're excited to be going back again later in the summer, all together!
